A braid crown is a very effective way to get your hair out of the way in a flattering manner. Good job, Rebecca Yarros. While most of your built world is completely ridiculous, that piece holds up.
I love how brown this batter is. These are Sarah’s “Bourbon” “Blondies”, so quoted because I made them with Amaretto (my go-to substitute) and I don’t consider a chocolate chip cookie bar a blondie. It’s a chocolate chip cookie bar.
The brown is mostly from dark brown sugar, though I misattributed it to the alcohol for more than a few minutes. I thought I had been so clever, replacing the light in a blondie recipe for extra depth of flavour… nope, it’s in the recipe. You’re just following instructions, darling.
Which is fine. No one yells at world-famous concert pianists for playing notes from the sheet music. You don’t get a black belt in inventing Karate moves. Just in doing them. And doing them well.
You’re always welcome to learn, and try, and change. But the path to mastery involves a lot of already trod ground.
